Without Full-Time Coverage
Professional Athletic Training Support for Schools
Give your coaching staff and student athletes access to licensed athletic trainers and orthopedic specialists—even without on-site athletic training coverage. Reduce liability, improve care quality, and ensure every injury gets professional medical attention.
The Challenge Schools Face
Many middle and high schools don't have full-time athletic trainers, leaving coaches to make medical decisions they're not trained to make.
Coaches Forced Into Medical Decisions
When an athlete gets injured during practice or competition, coaches must decide: Is it serious? Should they play? Do they need a doctor? Without athletic training expertise, these decisions create stress and risk for everyone involved.
Liability Concerns for Schools and Districts
When injuries aren't properly assessed and documented by medical professionals, schools face increased liability exposure. Parents want—and deserve—to know their athletes are receiving appropriate medical care.
"We care deeply about our athletes, but we're not medical professionals. Having access to athletic trainers through Sideline Ortho means we can focus on coaching while ensuring our athletes get the medical support they deserve."

Professional Medical Support For Every Injury
Here's how Sideline Ortho integrates seamlessly with your existing athletic program.
Step 1
Simple Injury Reporting
When an athlete is injured during practice or competition, the coach uses our mobile app or web portal to submit an injury report. This takes less than 2 minutes and can be done from the sideline or locker room.
Details included:
Athlete information
How the injury occurred
Initial observations
Photos or video if helpful
Step 2
Licensed Athletic Trainer Evaluates
A licensed, certified athletic trainer conducts a video consultation with the athlete to assess the injury. This typically happens within hours of the report, including evenings and weekends.
The athletic trainer:
Evaluates the injury through video assessment
Asks about symptoms and mechanism of injury
May request specific movements to assess function
Determines severity and appropriate next steps

Common Questions From Schools
What sports are covered?
Sideline Ortho supports all sports in your athletic program—football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, swimming, track and field, volleyball, baseball, softball, bowling, and any other sports your school offers. Our athletic trainers have experience across all sport types.
How do coaches access the service?
Coaches access Sideline Ortho through our mobile app or web portal. When an
athlete is injured, the coach submits a brief injury report (takes less than 2 minutes). Our athletic trainers then take over the medical assessment and communication. We provide simple training for all coaches during implementation.
What happens in emergency situations?
Sideline Ortho is designed for injuries that need professional medical assessment but
are not life-threatening emergencies. For emergencies (severe head injury, suspected spinal injury, severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, etc.), coaches should call 911 immediately. Our platform includes clear guidance on when to use emergency services vs. Sideline Ortho.
What if we already have a part-time athletic trainer?
Sideline Ortho complements existing athletic training coverage. Many schools have
part-time athletic trainers who can’t cover all practices, games, and sports. Sideline Ortho fills those gaps, ensuring every athlete has access to professional care regardless of when or where an injury occurs. We can also coordinate with your existing athletic trainer for continuity of care.
How is athlete privacy protected?
Sideline Ortho is fully HIPAA compliant. All medical information is protected with
secure, encrypted technology. Only authorized personnel (designated school administrators, the athlete’s coaches, and parents/guardians) have access to injury information. We maintain strict privacy standards and provide complete documentation of all access.
What technology requirements does our school need?
Minimal technology is required. Coaches need a smartphone or tablet with internet
access to submit injury reports. Video consultations can be conducted using the same devices. We provide technical support during implementation and ongoing.
How long does implementation take?
Most schools are up and running within 3-4 weeks from initial consultation. This
includes coach training, parent communication, and system setup. We can work with your
timeline and adjust implementation to fit your athletic calendar.
Can we try it for one sport or season first?
Yes! Many schools start with a pilot program for one season or specific sports before
expanding to their full athletic program. This allows coaches and administrators to experience the benefits before making a broader commitment. Contact us to discuss a pilot program structure.
What kind of ongoing support do you provide?
We provide continuous support including a dedicated account manager, regular usage
reports, ongoing coach training as needed, and technical support. We also conduct periodic reviews to ensure the service is meeting your school’s needs and to identify opportunities for improvement.
